When going on a journey you come to create bonds. That’s why we were really happy to meet again Stefano, an Italian backpacker, when we were about to cross the Greek border in the south of Albania. Catching up, tips and long discussions: that’s how we added Kastoria to our list of things to see in Greece, on his advice. And he was right: nestled between lake and mountains, Kastoria is a really refreshing stopover to discover in northern Greece!

We have already been asked why we chose to go through Greece on our journey: apart from the sun and the Greek islands, we wanted to travel through ancient Greece, the one that made us dream so much through our history books! And we were not disappointed: Delphi, Corinth, Athens, Epidaurus… The wonder was there, thanks to the architectural masterpieces, monumental remains left by a great civilization that ruled 3000 years ago.
As soon as we crossed the Greek border, we asked what else we could visit except ancient Greek sites and the famous Greek islands: we were then strongly recommended Meteora, those monasteries upstanding on top of very steep rocky cliffs… And even if we had already visited several Orthodox monasteries in Serbia and Kosovo, we let ourselves be tempted by those completely unusual Greek monasteries!
By visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina you will find yourself in a country of great contrasts, marked by its History, with an incredible diversity… of which the city of Mostar is a perfect example! As for us, we loved walking through Mostar streets, discovering its past, relaxing on the banks of Neretva river… Let’s come back on this discovery!

Finally, here we are in Athens, capital of Greece and a great place full of promises for us, Antiquity lovers and great travelers passing by! As we discover the heart of this mythical Greek city, we take you for a weekend tour leading to unusual places, street-art, good tips and even more good food.
There are so many islands and islets in Croatia: say in a simple way, choice for visiting are endless! And to have visited some of them, we have to say that Croatian islands are all appealing… Choice is going to be difficult! For us, the opportunity to put our bags down in Orebic led us to visit the Peljesac peninsula and Korcula island. This small detour in our route plan was well worth it: a quieter destination, but just as fantastic!

A new phenomenon is emerging in South Asia: “Western white” tourists would beg to partially finance their trip, either by selling postcards, playing music, or brandishing an advertising sign. These beggars of a new kind are called Begpackers, a word game between beg and backpackers. While we don’t endorse this practice, we also wanted to nuance the debate created by media articles laden with judgments and amalgamations.
During our Croatian journey, it was impossible for us to miss the Dalmatian coast and its beautiful cities such as Zadar, Sibenik, Split, Ston (and Mali Ston) nor to avoid the must-see Dubrovnik, made famous thanks to the cinematic art. If we didn’t have the opportunity to visit Zadar and its famous sea organ, we could really enjoy our trip along the Adriatic Sea!
