When going on a journey you come to create bonds. That’s why we were really happy to meet again Stefano, an Italian backpacker, when we were about to cross the Greek border in the south of Albania. We have already been asked why we chose to go through Greece on our journey: apart from the sun and the Greek islands, we wanted to travel through ancient Greece, the one that made us dream so much through our history books! And we were not disappointed: Delphi, Corinth, Athens, Epidaurus… The wonder was there, thanks to the architectural masterpieces, monumental remains left by a great civilization that ruled 3000 years ago.
As soon as we crossed the Greek border, we asked what else we could visit except ancient Greek sites and the famous Greek islands: we were then strongly recommended Meteora, those monasteries upstanding on top of very steep rocky cliffs… And even if we had already visited several Orthodox monasteries in Serbia and Kosovo, we let ourselves be tempted by those completely unusual Greek monasteries!
Finally, here we are in Athens, capital of Greece and a great place full of promises for us, Antiquity lovers and great travelers passing by! As we discover the heart of this mythical Greek city, we take you for a weekend tour leading to unusual places, street-art, good tips and even more good food.
