When we started to travel, we weren’t hitchhiking: Julien experimented hitchhiking for the first time by chance, and introduced me to the practice later on! A new phenomenon is emerging in South Asia: “Western white” tourists would beg to partially finance their trip, either by selling postcards, playing music, or brandishing an advertising sign. These beggars of a new kind are called Begpackers, a word game between beg and backpackers. While we don’t endorse this practice, we also wanted to nuance the debate created by media articles laden with judgments and amalgamations.
On the menu of traditional Balkan recipes, you will find a lot of meat – cooked, marinated in sauce, barbecued… It took a lot of effort to adapt traditional recipes with vegetarian alternatives – but most of all, to allow us to enjoy the Balkan food, where cooking skills are perfectly combined with good, locally grown products!
Are you in love with good vegetarian dishes? That’s a good thing, because during our stay in northern Italy, we learned traditional Italian recipes from our hosts… Recipes handed down from generation to generation, thanks to the know-how of the Mamma, which we have enjoyed to the point of sharing them, with pleasure and greediness.
